O Canto das Bem-Aventuranças: A Verdadeira Felicidade

Bem-aventurado o que chora na estrada,

E o pobre de espírito que busca a instrução,

Pois deles é a pátria na luz coroada,

E o terno consolo no seu coração.

Aos mansos e humildes que guardam a calma,

A herança da Terra o Pai prometeu;

A força divina que abriga esta alma

É a mesma promessa que o tempo acolheu.

Felizes os que têm a fome e a sede

Da santa justiça que o bem quer erguer,

Pois saciarão sua busca na rede

De amor que o Eterno fará florescer.

Aos misericordiosos, a graça e o perdão,

E aos de mente pura, sem mágoa ou revés,

O prêmio supremo de ver em união

A face do Pai que sustenta os seus pés.

Feliz quem trabalha erguendo a concórdia,

Chamado de filho do Deus Criador;

E quem na tormenta e na vil injúria

Sofre perseguição por agir com amor.

O Reino dos Céus é o porto seguro

Das almas que buscam a regeneração;

Onde o ímã divino clareia o escuro

E o hino do Cristo se faz comunhão!

 

The Song of the Beatitudes: True Happiness

How blessed are the poor who are searching for grace,

And those who are weeping in sorrow and pain,

For they shall be comforted in His embrace,

And walk in the light of His heavenly reign.

The meek and the humble who quietly stand,

Will inherit the earth as the promise of old;

Supported and led by the Father's own hand,

To gather their steps in the celestial fold.

How blessed are those with a hunger and thirst

For righteousness, goodness, and virtue to grow,

For they shall be filled, and their chains shall be burst,

By rivers of grace that continuously flow.

The merciful souls will find mercy at last,

And the pure in their hearts shall behold the divine;

Leaving the shadows and debts of the past,

To let their internal light visually shine.

How blessed are the peacemakers working below,

For they shall be called the true children of peace;

And those who are persecuted, standing in glow,

To cause all the trials of exile to cease.

For theirs is the kingdom of heaven above,

A harbor of beauty where spirits are free;

Aligned by the magnet of ultimate love,

United for all of eternity!
